HALSWELL SPORTS CLUB.

TROTTING EVENTS INCLUDED. Some time ago the Ilalswell Sports j Club approached the Ilalswell Domain Board for permission to include trotting events, in their sports programme on Boxing Day. A deputation waited on the board and put forward certain proposals. The secretary of the club (Mr A. Rose) has now received a letter from the Domain Board granting permission on the following conditions: —(1) All horse races must be saddle events; (2) the sports club must take out an insurance policy for £IOOO indemnifying the board from liability for any accident occurring on the ground; (3) any damage .done to the board's property must be made good by the sports club. The conditions have been accepted by the club, which will now apply for a racing permit.
