SWIMMING.
SOMBRPIBLD CLUB. The third annual meeting of the Somerfield Amateur Swimming Club was held at the Somerfield School on Wednesday evening, when Mr W.-.H. Winsor presided over an attendance of about 50 members. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted as read, and considered very satisfactory, the club being £lO 4/1 in credit after having paid £5 13/towards permanent improvements to the bath, and £ls 11/- in trophies. It was decided to make arrangements for an opening carnival before the end of November. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr G. E. Whiting; president, Mr W. H. Winsor vice-presi-dents, Messrs E. H. Clark, A. Manhire, J. McLeod, W. W. Charters, and E. T. Martin; club captain, Mr J. Fraser; deputy captain, Mr S. 11. Clark; hon. secretary, Mr W. H. Joyce; hon. treasurer, Mr P. J. Clark; starter, Mr W. Walker; handicapper, Mr E. H. Clark,'jun.; committee, Mrs Lavender, Misses T. Kent and M. Allardyce, Messrs Bullivant, Calderwood, Harrison, Lavender, Tiemey and Walker; delegates to Centre, Messrs P. J. Bullivant and W. H. Joyce.
