AN EXCITING CHASE. TAUBE SURROUNDED AND BROUGHT DOWN. (Received October 16, 9.40 a.m.) PARIS, October 15. A Taube; aeroplane flew over Saint ©me/r on, Monday, arid dropped killing wounding six civilians. Five "French aerojdanes pursued and surroundecr the Taube. The Frenchaviators fired ,their "revolvers, killing the mechanic, and wounding the Qerman aviatoi-. Finally the Taube aero* plane fell, riddled" with shot. FRENCHMAN WINS AIR DUEL. GERMAN AVIATORS INCINERATED (Received October 16, 9.50 a.m.) -;V. : „ PARIS, October 15. It transpires that when M. Poineare 's visit to General Joffre was arranged, the Germans sent one of their best aviators to drop si li>omb upon them. This refuted ■■■in an aerial duel, in which a French a.viator named Frantz brought' down the German machine, the pilot and aviator being incinerated. Frantz received the Cross of the Legion of Honour for his exploit.
