LYTTELTON METHODIST CHURCH.

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Lyttelton Methodist Church was held on Thursday evening last, the pastor, Rev. A. Mitchell, presiding. The membership roll showed an increase of 20. There had been four removals. The balance-sheet revealed a deficiency of £lO on the quarter's working. v In accordance with the recommendation of the conference, it was resolved to grant the minister two weeks' holiday. A resolution was carried urging Methodists to vote No-license and National Prohibition. The Chairman reported the formation of a tennis club with a membership of 60. A large increase in the number of communicants was reported and received with satisfaction. It was decided to hold a Messiah Festival in December in aid of the Circuit Fund. The report from the Morning Star Brigade showed an increase of numbers and commendable activity. It was resolved to hold a flower show on Friday next.

Messrs Olliver and Broun were appointed delegates to the District Synoa, and Mr Gar lick circuit agent for the " Methodist Times."
