THE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM At noon to-day the unemployment register at the Christchureh office of the Department of Labour contained the names of 249 liieri, of- whfcnr 192 -are married, men or single men with dependents, and 57 are single men without dependents. " Eight of the married men and four of the single men are men whose names were placed on the regis-' ter this morning and who have not been on the roll before during the present crisis. During the past week the applications for labour from private employers have decreased somewhat.
