THE TROOPERS' CLUB.
.The Troopers' Club in Wellington is evidently much appreciated, as the attendance of troopers continues to increase, and the hostesses are kept busy providing refreshments and otherwise looking after their guests each evening. On Friday night an excellent programme of entertainment was provided, more extended than had originally been arranged for, and the troopers themselves contributed several songs and choruses. They are fortunate in possessing among their number a singer and player who is ready to respond to all the calls that are made upon him, with the greatest readiness and skill, and needless to say he is quite the joy of his company. Choruses, ragtime, songs, etc., were contributed by them, and assisting with the prepared programme were the Misses Dora Clarke and J. Nicholas, with a pianoforte duet; the Rev. Cyril Harvey, songs; Miss Bradney, song; Mrs Cooke, recitation; the Rev. G. S. Cooke, recitation; clarinet solo, Mr.C. D. Macintosh;. humorous dialogue, Molesworth Street Methodist Ladies' Literary Society; and some charming fancy dancing by three little girls, some of Miss Greville's dancing pupils. Miss Mestayer's electric battery provided much entertainment, likewise a fortune-teller. The singing of the "Marseillaise" and the National Anthem ended the evening. Miss Massey was among those who were assisting last evening.
