TROTTING.

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION.

The usual mohthly meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association wa s s held this afternoon, when there were present Messrs P. Selig (cTnurioan), H. Kitchingham, H. F. Nieoll, .0. F. Mark, W. E; Simes, and T, Ritchie.

A letter was received from the New South Wales Trotting Club regarding disqualifications. \ An application was received from theWaikato Trotting Glub for registration, and asking for the assistance of the association in the matter of obtainiuga permit. —The application for. registration was acceded to.

Similar applications were received from the South Canterbury Trotting Club and Hawke's Bay Trotting Club. The former was granted, and the latter was held over for further information.

The Southland Racing Club wrote suggesting that the Southland Trotting CMib should be favourably considered in the matter of its application for a permit.—lt, was decided to inform the club that the matter was one for the consideration of the Trotting Conference. ■-. ; - , ' : ' ' ' .'•■'-. --•.•-■•.-: r

The Westland Trotting Club, Wiafeea Trotting Club,: and Horowhenua Tfbtting Club; wrote asking the association to use its influence in the direction of obtaining them permits.—lt was resolved to advise the clubs to make their applications to the Trotting Conference. A letter was read from - the Greymouth Trotting Club regarding its answer to,the proposals put forward by the Owners' and ! Trainers '■. Association concerning a uniform system of handicapping. It was decided to thank the Greymouth Trotting Club for its communication. Considerable correspondence was received from Tasmania regarding the registration of the horse Hugh, recently imported from New Zealand. The application was over.
