COMMISSIONER HODDER. • -v ! Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 5. News has been received in Wellington • fronfthe Salvation Army International Headquarters, London, that Commis-. sioner W. J. Richards, who is under orders to transfer to Canada in succession to the late Commissioner Rees, will be succeeded as Territorial Commander in New Zealand by Commissioner Henry C. Hodder, who has for several years been in command of the Salvation Army in Japan, but who is at present in England. Commissioner Hodder is an officer of 32 years' standing, and has come ujj through the rauks like Commissioner Richards. He is described as being a fine capable man with an eqjially capable wife. They will be loyally received by all Salvationists. The Army people here are said to feel that, while they are all sorry and regret that circumstances in the Army's interest take away their present Commissioner, the same wisdom which appointed the present leader will prove itself worthy of trust in the new appointment, and that the new Commissioner will maintain the present position of the Army and help it forward still further. The exact date of the arrival of the new Commissioner will be announced later. Commissioner and Mrs Richards are
to be tendered a farewell at Wellington on Sunday and Monday,.October 25 and 26.
