BOYS' GORDON HALL.
MEETING OF THE TRUSTEES. The Board of Trustees of the Boys? Gordon Hall met on Thursday, when there were present: Bishop Grimes, the Revs. John MacKenzie and W. A. Sinclair, Messrs A. W. Beaven, and J. D. Hall, and Miss Margaret Walker. Mr P. M. Yelvin, director of work, also attended. '
Mr J. D. Hall was elected chairman. The secretary reported that the credit balance was £153 11/1. The Rev. J. MacKenzie wrote ten-1 dering his resignation as a member of • the 1 board. Tire resignation was accepted with regret, and the Rev. J. i Paterson was elected to fill the vacancy.
A donation of £lO from the Education Board for the special campaign for boys leaving school was paid over to the Committee of Management; The director, in his fifth annual report, stated that the membership cam- . paign, conducted conjointly with /the _ Y.M.C.A., brought in about 50 mem- ■ bers, and the membership, including she j boys in the Woolston and Sydenham Clubs, was over 200. The Junior f: Philatelic Society, with a membership ; of 70, and a newly : fornied Photographic Club met regularly. Twenty-five had been enrolled in the gymnasium class. ; Among other exercises, Association ?• football continued very popular. The " cricket season had not been very sue- ' cessful, but a strong team was to; be entered this year. Constant calls were made for boys by employers. Nothing>: had been done in the way of conducting education classes, which were well: provided for in other schools. ; The report was adopted. i
