SUMNER NOTES.

At the Girls' Friendly Society's final evening Miss Willett, in her address to the members, said she hoped to see more members joining next season; also that the Bible studies given by the Rev. McKenzie Gibson would be better attended in future. Songs were given by Mrs Tait, and the rest of the evening was spent in dancing. The proceedings were brought to a close by all those present singing the National Anthem. MOTHERS' UNION. At the usual monthly meeting of the Sumner Branch, Mrs E. G. Woods presided. The meeting took the form of a social afternoon. The "Mothers' J.Tnion Magazine" was introduced, and all the members decided to take it. Songs were given by Mesdames Pidgeon, Tait, Wilson, Bain, Fountain, and Miss Johnson, Miss Ferguson recited, and Mrs Stevens and Mrs Anderson gare pianoforte selections*
