ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DEATH'ON THE ATHENIC. Pr-ias Association. WELLINGTON, October 1. An elderly man named John White, a wharf labourer, was assisting to put on the hatches on the Athenic this morning, when he overbalanced and fell to the bottom of the hold, a distance of 24 feet. He fractured the base of his skull, and died in four minutes.
