OPERATIONS OF THE ALLIES

IN¥M)E GERMANY GERMAN NAVAL ACTIVITY. BOMBARDMENT AT TSING-TAU. CRIPPLED BRITISH STEAMER CREEPS INTO BRISBANE. x - - : - X Little change is reported in regard to the operations of the Allies, who are more than holding their own against the Germans. A report that the-Germanrright wing has been entirely broken lacks confirmation. The French are reported to have re-taken St. Mihiel, and taken the Prince of ..Bavaria'-,prisoner. The Russians have left Trzemysl entirely surrounded, and continue to advance rapidly. An interesting outline of their intentions, preparatory to the invasion of Germany, is given. On all sides active preparations are being made for a winter campaign. Very many German warships are said to be in the Kiel Canal, feverishly fitting but with the most modern guns. The Germans are also displaying activity in the Baltic. In the Far East, attacks have been made on the Germans by land and sea, and a combined bombardment by British and Japanese warships was effective. . Further details are given of the captures and sinking of British ships by the elusive German cruiser Emderi. The Servians are said to have fe-captured Senuin, which they will v use as a base for their ultimate offensive action.
