MISCELLANEOUS. Hemp. —The market is inactive. High point fair £23 5/-. Rubber. —Para 2/8, plantation 2/-, smioked 2/IA. Silver.—23 13-16 d.
WOOL AND SHEEPSKINS. The following is a copy of a cable received by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., from their London office: — Wool Sales. —Owing to the attitude of wool buyers merchants have decided to limit offerings to arrivals up N to August 18. Sales open on October 6, and will last five days. It is expected 50,000 bales will be offered. Sheepskin Sales. —4530 bales Australasian were offered and 3130 bales sold. Prices on . the average are lower for merinos 25 per cent, and crossbreds 15 per cent. '

(Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average , market prices on spot ) , Mutton: The marked is firmer, partly (wing to pu-5 chases for the Government. Canterbury s|d for light-weight, heavyweight s£d, North Island 53d for lightweight., owes ssd-
Lamb: The market is weaker and slightly lower. The demand has considerably fallen off on account of the high prices. Canterbury two's 6 13-16 d, other than Canterbury 6§d for lightweight of the very best quality and 6|d for fair average quality.
Beef: The market is firmer owing to the short supply of chilled. New Zealand hinds 6|d, fores s£d, chilled hinds 7|d, fores s§d. Butter: The market is quiet, but for best quality the supply falls short of the demand. Danish is steady at 128/to 130/-. Siberian is in fair demand at 114/- to 118/-. Australian: Small supplies are coming forward, selling at 116/- to 120/-. Irish creamery is very slow at 112/- to 118/-, Argentine 116/to 118/-. Cheese: The. market is quiet, but steady* Canadian is slow at 75/- to 76/-., English Cheddar is quiet at 76/to 84/-. The market prices for New Zealand and cheese, are-not 'quoted this week, as: th(B -supply is; practically exhausted.
Hemp: The market is dull. Supplies are large and prices nominal. New Zealand good fair £24, fair £22 10/-, fair current Manila £26 10/-. The output from Manila for the week was 15,000 bales.
Sisal: There is a large supply, and priees have been falling heavily. Value is £2l e.i.f., London. \yheat:, The market is quiet, with a tendency .in favour of buyers.. Australian 45/- c.i.f. • ; Oats: The market is steady, but without attention. New Zealand nOartons 32/- ex-store.
