CRICKET.

THE KAIAPOI CLUB. The Kaiapoi Cricket Club opened its season on Saturday with a match between golfers and cricketers, the latter winning by 57 runs. Batting first, the golfers scored 76 (L. Evans 20 retired, H. L. Wilson 17). The cricketers replied with 133 (A. Bollinson 22 retired, D. McGregor 22 retired, J. Bollinson 20 retired, I*. Parnham 20 retired). A collection amongst the spectators yielded £2 10/- for the Belgian Belief Fund.

ST. PETER'S CLUB. At the annual meeting of St'. Peter's Cricket Club, officers were elected as follow:—Patron, Mr W. Cloggie; president, the Bev. T. McDonald; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Burmeister, W. L. Grant, E. Baddon, G. J. McDonald, E. McFedries, T. B. Wright, S. Gilmore, E. Wright, P. Clark, T. Watson, H. Hanna, and G. S. White; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Ballantine; delegate to association, Mr R. Bruce; Selection Committee, captain of each team and the club captain, Mr B. Bruce.

It was decided to enter a president's team and vice-president's team in the City and Suburban - Association's competition. The. opening day was fixed for October 3. ,
