Too much gas in a soda-water bottle caused one H. G. Harris, an employee of H. Mace and Co., soda-water manufacturers, to visit the outpatients' ward of the hospital for treatment this raorn : ing. The bottle burst from internal troubles and some of the fragments of glass flew up and gave Harris a nastyash on the lip. At a general meeting of the Canterbury University College Students' Association held last night, a motion was passed assuring Mr 11. S. Eiehards of hearty and unanimous support in his nomination for this year's Bhodes's Scholarship. Mr Eiehards has had a brilliant scholastic career at Canterbury College, and takes a very active and" leading part in all the students' -'lanisations.
