ENGLISH MAILS. On the advice of the Imperial authorities the Suez mail route has for the present been abandoned. Mails for Rarotonga, United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, North, Central, and South America, also West Indies, per Maori, close at Christchurch on Wednesday, September .16. OTHER MAILS. For Cass, Bealey Flat, Otira, Greymouth, Westport, Hokitika, and other West Coast offices, overland, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, at 7.30 a.m.; guard's van 8.30 a.m. train. Postage on letters for Samoa has now been reduced to one penny per ounce. Mails for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, per Maori, to eonect with Navua, close at Christchurch on Wednesday next, September 10.
