KNITTING REVIVAL.

The up-to-date girl's latest fail is knitting. She has taken to the well-nigh obsolete art with zest, and at the seaside, instead of sitting with her hands idle, she is busy with her needles. She, apparently, finds that the occupation is not jiily restful, but extremely useful, and although she ioes not revert to her grandmother's practice of knitting hose, she produces some marvellous specimens of handi.vork in the shape of mufflers and sports jackets. The artistic girl is very particular about the colour of her knitting. Whether it is woollen or worsted, she takes care that the colour matches her toilette, or at any rate sets off her frock to the best advantage. She diovva a special predilection for pinks, blues, and reds, which correspond to the silk scarf of her hat.
