NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting 'of the Riccarton Borough Council held on the 14th day of August, 1914, the following Resolution was passed, and will be SUBMITTED for CONFIRMATION at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held on the 11th day of SEPTEMBER. 1914, at 7.30 p.m.j at the Council Chambers, Riccarton Road: "That in exercise of the power conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporation's Act, 1908, and its Amendments, the Council do alter the name of Peverel, Paton, ami Sackville Streets to Peverel Street; and Brandon, Prince, and St. David Streets be altered to Brandon Street." It is hereby publicly notified that the Riccarton Borough Council desire to Obtain the Consent of the Ratepayers of tha"t part of the Borough of Riccarton, described in the Schedule hereto, to RAISE A LOAN of £5005 12/6, to be expended on the following Works, viz., the Construction, of Concrete Channelling, Culverts, Asphalting, »«a Footpaths on the various Roads within, the said District. y ..'. . ' And whereas such Borough Council has caused to be. prepared a Special Roll of the Ratepayers in that part of the district. Now notice is hereby given that such Special Roll has been deposited for public inspection during the period of Seven Days from the date, hereof, and during office hours, at the Office of the Riccarton Borough Council, Riccarton. Any person desiring to Object to his* name being included in the said Roll on the grounds that his property will not be benefited; by the expenditure of the proposed Loan or on the ground that his property is wholly or partially omitted from the Roll, must lodge with the Riccarton Borough Council an Objection to that effect not later than Seven Days after the expiration of the said Seven to. be heard and determined as by the said/ Act prpvided. The proposed Security for such proposed Loan is a. Special Rate of Two and One-ninth of a Penny in the Pound on the Unimproved Value of all Rateable Property in the. abov.3 area. The said Loan shall have a currency of Thirty-six and a-half Years (36J), and bear interest at a rate 'not exceeding £5 per centum per annum. It is proposed to. pay out of the Loan's rthe cost of raising the Loan, the Interest for the first year, > and the preliminary expenses in connection, with the schemes for which the Loan is proposed to be raised. SCHEDULE OF LOAN AREA. MAKE THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW, namely, a By-law whereof the object or purport is as follows: Part i __\yub. respect to the Erection of Dwelling-houses regulating- the frontage and area of land upon which Dwelling-houses can be ejected. Part II. —-Relating to the setting back of the building line regulating the Erection of New Buildings on narrow streets. And notice is hereby further given that the aforesaid Resolution will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order to a Special Meeting of the Council ,to be held at the Borough Council Office on FRIDAY, the 11th day of SEPTEMBER, 1914, at* the hour of 7.30 o'clock in the evening, and, further, that a Copy of the proposed By-law-is deposited. at the Office of the Council, Riccarton Road, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours from the date hereof until the said Resolution is confirmed.
