ADDINGTON MARKET.
A GOOD SALE. A snarp' rise in the price of beef was . the most noticeable feature of the metropolitan markets to-day, due to exporters operating. The store sheep sale showed a further improvement. Pat sheep were yarded in big numbers, and in view of the projected early opening of one of the local freezing works, isold specially well. Pigs sold well, and in other departments late rates •were well maintained. STORE SHEEP. The store sheep sale was again small, ? only a couple of races being required to accommodate the.sheep sent forward. • With one or two excetions the sheep ?were of rather poor quality. A couple of useful lines of wethers and a pen of sound-mouthed ewes were all that \ could be described as of good quality. •The tone of the sale again showed a : slight improvement, especially for good hoggets. These improved by rather more than.6d per head,-making an advance of 1/6 upon values a fortnight ago. Inferior ewes were neglected, otherwise values were well up to last week's figures. The rain was no doubt responsible in some measure for the improved values. The range of prices was as follows: — Ewes, good sound-mouthed, to 21/4.
