CAUGHT IN THE ACT.
GERMAN TRAWLER , MINES RAMMED AND SUNK BY BRITISH cruiser. : LONDON, August 31. ; A British cruiser caught a German trawler, which was flying a Norwegian flag, laying mines in the North Sea. The cruiser gave the crew three minutes to escape, and then rammed and sank the trawler. The German Press believes that the" 1 Heligoland engagement may be regard: ed as insignificant, and not affecting the general situation. The papers point out that the fighting occurred within range of the Heligoland forts, but the thickness of the weather prevented the use of the guns.
