WEDDING.
A wedding of interest to a wide circle "was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Addington, yesterday afternoon, when Mr John Bowden, son of Mr "N. K. Bowden, Lincoln Road, was married to Miss Ivy Isabel Brown, youngest daughter of Mi* John Brown, Mayor of Riecarton. The ceremony, which was fully choral, was performed by Rev. T. W. Vealey. The church was beautifully decorated | with white camelias and snowdrops, the work of the girl friends of the bride. The ceremony was preceded by the singing of the opening verses of the nuptial hymn, " The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden," and was concluded with the remaining verses. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty gown of white broiderie Anglaise over a slip of white satin, completed with a beautiful veil of embroidered tulle surmounting a erown of orange blossoms. Her shower bouquet was of choice white flowers veiled in asparagus fern. The two bridesmaids were Misses May Dalley and Ella Nicholls, girl friends of the bride. They were dressed alike in white chiffon voile, and white hats ornamented with clusters of pink Banksia roses. Each carried a shower bouquet of pale pink camelias and ferns. The bridgeroom was accompanied by Mr Stanley Smith (cousin of the bride) as best man, and Mr Alan Freeman, (nephew of * the bridegroom) as groomsman. After the ceremony, which was witnessed .by a large number of friends, an adjournment was made to Hatherton, whfcje a party of guests, numbering about seventy, was entertained at a wedding tea in honour of the event. Mrs John Brown (mother of the bride) wore a becoming costume of black resilda, with black', hat trimmed with plumes, and wreath of small pink flowers. Mrs Thomas (Dunedin) a sister of the bride, wore a smart navy costume, and a hat of pale cerise. Another sister, Mrs Cutler, of Woodend, also chose a navy costume, worn with a black hat 'trimmed with tulle. The bride, on leaving for the wedding trip, wore a stylish costume of dark blue cloth, and a hat to match in one of the newest shapes. A large number of valuable presents were received.
