CRICKET.

A NORTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The* annual meeting of the North Canterbury Cricket Association was held yesterday afternoon at Eangiora, Mr W. T. Wilson presiding. The committee's report stated that the association was financially sound, there being a credit balance of £3 19/3. A good season of cricket had resulted in the~ Kaiapoi Club winning botli the senior competition and the junior. Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr A. E. Cook; vice-presi-dents, Messrs G. Little, T. Burgin, J. Smith, G. Croft, J. Barclay,. Wright, and E. Peary; secretary-, and treasurer, Mr- F. CifilivcrC'radwick; auditor, Mr H. C. Wilson. It was decided that the east and west scheme be abolished, and that there be only one competition, the senior cup to go.to the winning team, and the junior cup to the runner-up. Entries for the competition will close on September 15, when final arrangements will be made.
