Be Patriotic # TO ASSIST TH E BRITISH WORKER. APPEAL BY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. (Received August 11, 10.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 10. The Association of Chambers of Commerce issued an appeal to the overseas dominions. Within the past few weeks a very large number of orders for goods have been cancelled, reduced in volume,- or delivery postponed, possibly due to (he temporary advance in the price of money or the uncertainty regarding war risks. The Government has provided against both, therefore the Associated Chambers appeal to traders not only to confirm orders but to increase them. The Mother Country has a large mass of industrial population. Manufacturers are doing their best to keep them in employment, but cannot succeed if customers suspend orders or delay payments for goods already shipped. The Association is satisfied that if kinsmen overseas know the facts they will not overlook this practical means of assisting. 4? If you require Building or other work done we recommend you to do it now. You will not only help the worker in England, but the worker in our midst, who will be in difficulties if all building ceases, E. REECE & SONS LTD.
