SUMNER NOTES.
LIFEBOAT BRIGADE. A meeting of the Sumner Lifeboat Brigade was held in the boatslied ou Friday evening. Present: Messrs C. I. Denham ('in the chair), F. Kerr, G. Hibel, J. Hines, F. Hibel, A. Wood, and G. S. Lavie. It was decided that Mr A. Hines's discharge should be forwarded to him, also his certificate showing that he had served in the brigade for four years. Leave of absence was granted to Mr R. A. Kerr, who has joined the Expeditionary Force, and also to credit him with all practices held during his absence. TII3 secretary was instructed to write a letter of thanks to the Lyttelton Harbour Board for its kind offer of paying the expenses of taking the lifeboat up to Christchurch foi' the demonstration. * THE TERRITORIALS. On Sunday a large number of Sumner residents visited the members of the" Sumner Territorials who are engaged guarding the forts 011 the Lyttelton Hills. The Territorials spoke very highly of the treatment they are receiving, all being in the best of health and having nothing to complain of in their soldiers' lot.
