FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.

WEEKLY MEETING, At a meeting'of the Canterbury Football Association held last evening at the Y.M.C.A. there were present: — Messrs English (chairman), Gentles (secretary), Eastgate, Gill, Bunt, Burgess, Herley, Field, Davies, and Dr. Gow.

The rules concerning the management, constitution, and by-laws of the association were read and fully dealt with. • It was decided to levy a registration fee upon the members of teams as follows: —First' and second grades, 2/6; 3rd and 4th grades, 1/-. It was stated that this fee was not levied for the entire benefit of the association, but in order to help players to keep together, thereby helping the association. Correspondence was read from several clubs, asking permission to play certain matches!— This was. granted. The Wellington Football Association wrote asking if the Canterbury Football Association would be /willing for a fourth-grade representative team to visit Canterbury. —The letter was received.

A balance-sheet was read, showing the expenditure and receipts of several iaterprovineial matches. The gross receipts for the match, Canterbury v. | Wanganui, amounted to £ls, and the ex- j penditure to £lB 19/6. The total debit balance amounted t© £8 12/6^ It was resolved not to postpone the Brown Shield Match, as was by Dr. Gow. A large number of tickets had been sold, and arrangements were well in hand, so that the postponement of the match would mean increased expenditure to tire association.
