LONDON MARKETS. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright (Received August 15, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 14. Wheat ia quiet; 42/6 is asked for parcels of South Australian afloat. Momis firmly held, and there is little doing. Australian, ex store, is quoted at 38/to 40/-. Oats are very firm. New Zealand flour afloat is quoted at 29/6. Peas and beans are firm, with little offering. TO-DAY'S POULTRY MARKET. The entry of poultry to-day was very small, owing to most farmers being in town during the week. Table chickens realised 4/6 to 8/9, hens 2/6 to 5/6, pullets 3/- to 8/2, ducks 5/- to 8/4, turkey gobblers 24/-, turkey hens 6/to 12/- per pair. THE EG-Gr MARKET. Supplies are now coming forward and summer prices have begun. Canterbury egg circle first grades 1/1, seconds lid to 1/-, stores lid to 1/dozen. THE SHARE MARKET. The share market continues quiet, and apart from mining stocks very little business has been done. The local Stock Exchange only met for three calls this week. Investment stock sales reported are as follow: —Bank of New Zealand fully paid at £l4 10/- and £l4 16/-; South British Insurance at £3 15/- and £3 17/6; and New Zealand Insurance at £5 5/-. Manning and Co. at £4 and Taupiri Coal at 20/3. There is no doubt that investors with ready money have ample opportunity to obtain first-class investment stocks at low prices. In mining stocks there has been little fluctuation. At the beginning of the week Waihis sold at 29/6, and on Thursday at 31/-. Sales of Talismans were reported at 27/3 and increased to 27/9, at which figure they appear firm. Grand Junctions sold at 21/6, 21/3, and 21/-. AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. Press Association.
