THE HANMER FIRE.
BATHS NOT AFFECTED. (Sun Special.) WELLINGTON, August 15. The Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes, Minister of Tourist and Health Resorts, interviewed to-day in connection with the Haniner Springs Sanatorium, stated that the destruction of this building by fire would not in any way affect the bathing establishment or recreation facilities. The baths had not been affected by the disaster, and tlie tennis courts and golf links would be available as usual. Dr Ely Roe, who had been relieving the resident ■ medical officer, would also remain at Hanmer for the purpose of consultation. Patients would, however, pending the re-erection of the building, have to make their own arrangements for board and lodging while under treatment. There were ample and comfortable houses at liannicr where all visitors could be accommodated at reasonable rates.
