THE CANTERBURY UNION. MANAGEMENT *COMMITTEE MEETS. The Management Committee of "the Canterbury Rugby Union met last even- • ing, Mr F.<_l. Evans presiding. There were also present:—Messrs A. ' The Boys' High Sdiool nQtified that owing to its first fifteen travelling to Dunedin, they would be unable to play in the local competitions on August 22. Thereafter the school vacation would - take place, and the team would probably be unable to take part in further matches.—The matter was referred to the . Competitions Committee. The Christchureh Club wrote, statingthat its reasons for withdrawing its protest were contained in its letter of withdrawal. The Mayor wrote, asking that the S union put on a match for the benefit of * the Open-air Fund. —The matter was deferred.
