A REPORT DENIED. INCREASED WAR RATES. (Received August 1, 11.30 a.m.) ' \ . SYDNEY, August 1. < The German Consul repudiates the report of the arming of German liners as a pure fabrication. The manager of the-North German Lloyd Co. states that none of their steamers scarry guns; not even as ballast. ./ . The Marine Underwriters announce further increases in insurance rates on air steamers, except Austrian, of one to four per centum.
