The Christchurch Methodist Choir Union will give a choral festival in the Durham Street Church on Thursday and Saturday, August 6 and 8. The chorus, which consists of 250 voices, will sing six anthems and four hymns. Duets and quartets will also be given, and good performances are expected. The conductor is Mr E. Firth, F.R.C.0., and Miss Eleanor Smith is the organist. As part of the proceeds are in aid of the Methodist Orphanage Fund there should be large audiences.
