STONEMASONS' DISPUTE.
Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 27. The hearing of the Wellington stonemasons' dispute was continued to-day before the Conciliation Council, Mr P. Rally (Commissioner) presiding. After lengthy deliberations all the points at issue were agreed upon, with the exception of those relating to the definition of a tradesman, wages, suburban work, preference, dressed and imported stone, and the terih of the award. The whole of the disputed clauses will be referred! to the Arbitration Court for determination. The clauses agreed to. provide for the reduction of a week's] work from 45 to 44 hours and existing! 'overtime rates, and the laying down oft specified conditions in relation to sub-] letting, engagement of apprentices andj ccuntry work. The men in the demands! asked for 1/9 an hour in place of 1/8] as at present. This the employers refused to concede, offering the existing! 1/S.'
