TAXI'S BACKSLIDING.

Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 27. A taxi cab, after conveying passengers to the top of Mount Eden, was left standing while the passengers moved about. The driver walked to meet the passengers on returning. The car slipped backwards into the crater and rolled to the bottom. It was damage to the extent of a hundred pounds.
