ADDINGTON BAND CARNIVAL.

The general committee of the Addington Brass Baud met on Thursday evening to discuss matters of interest in connection with the coming carnival. Mr Morris, the president, occupied the chair, and there were about fifty persons present. The Ladies' Committee reported that good progress had been made. Those in charge of the various stalls are as follow:—Refreshment rooms, Mesdames Pratt, Penlington, Falkinder and Bittie, sen.; plain work, Mesdames Brown and Smith and' Miss Sloan; variety, Mesdames Woods, sen., Jackson, Downing and Gyde; sweets stall, Mrs Morris; produce, Messrs D. M'Cracken, J. L. M'Cracken and Bettle, jun., and Miss Monroe; flower stall, Mr and Mr? Purse and Mrs Parlane; doll stall, Mesdames Hooker, Lane, and Taylor; men's stall, Mesdames Everett and Bowden, and Messrs Taylor, Beaton, Bettle, and Piatt; post card and book stall, Miss Griffiths; hop garden, Misses Bowden and Dunkley; bran tub, Miss Schumaker. The Jumble Sale Committee reported a profit of £24. According to other reports presented the arrangements for,, the fair were well in hand, and ihe decorations and special features were already designed and had only to be executed.
