RANGIORA.
A meeting of the North Canterbury and Oxford Jockey Club was held last evening, Mr 'II. D. van Asche in the chair.
The secretary submitted the balancesheet for the sports meeting, held at Eangiora on July 11, which showed receipts £164 i;?/o, expenditure £205 /-, leaving a debit balance of £4l 9/3. Considering that the club expended £47 6/6 on hurdles and fences and that over £SO is still owing for subscriptions, this must be considered very satisfactory. The secretary, who was appointed delegate to the conference of county clubs, 'held in Wellington, submitled to the meeting his report, which stated that it was decided at that conference to form a Country Club Association, and that he had nominated Mr van Asche ai? their delegate to the executive. It was unanimously agreed to donate the sum of £lO to the secretary for his untiring energies on behalf of the club. A committee was selected with power to act, to have the track ploughed and sown.
