(Received July 20, 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 20. M. Gillaux's flying time for the 582 miles was a lititle over nine hours, an average of - sixty-four per hour. He made seven intermediate stops. A succession "of storms, with heavy rain an<l intense cold, together with the difficulty of piloting over an* unknown country, proved to be serious setbacks. At A r arious points he rose to a great altitude—-up to fifteen thousand- feet, in order to try and escape the storms. The "cold was almost numbing, und he had to steer by the compass. The journey between Harden and Sydney was perilous. The wind was so strong, and the rain beat so fiercely, that sometimes his maehine nearly capsized.
