The following were Vthe ruling price* in to-day's markets: —Apples, 2d to 2 id per lb; apples, cooking, 1H to 2Jd per lb; oranges, Island, 7/- 'to 8/- per case, Mildnra, 12/6 per case; mandarins, 12/- to 14/-' per case; pears, 5/- to 7/-' per case; bananas, ripe," 12/per case; pineapples, 11/- to 13/- per ease; poorman oranges, 10/- to 13/- per case; lemons, 15/- per case; hothouse tomatoes, 4d to 5d per lb; potatoes, 5/to 6/- per sack; cabbages,' 2/- to 3/per doz; cauliflowers, 4/- to 7/- per doz; carrots, 7d to 8d per doz; turnips, 74 per doz; parsnips, 8d per doz; string onions, 7/- to 7/6 per cwt. Tlie market has been well supplied with local fruit and vegetables. v-.; FEOZEN MEAT MARKET. The following is a copy of a cable* gram received by Dalgety and 00., Ltdfrom their London office;; ; dated Juty l€, y 1914: —"Frozen meat —The market is dull owing to the hot weather. Prices are unchanged." Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following, from their London office, c'ated July 15, 1914: "Tallow.—Since out last wire prices for tallow (in general) are unchanged." WATCHMAN RETURNS. The Christchurch Stock Exchange receive* the following telegram" this day from the Watchman Gold Mining Company, Ltd. :— "Watchman return: Crushed 1018 tong f»r return of £1484 10/-, comprising plates £543 5/2, cyanide £733 14/4, 13 tons concentrates £202 10/ G."
