DUNSANDEL.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Akaroa Borough Council was held on Wednesday, July 15, 1914, the actingMayor, Mr T. Lewitt, presiding. The acting-Mayor moved, pursuant to notice: "That a general rate of 1M in the £ be struck, and payable on the 18th inst." The motion was carried. A hawker's permit was granted to Jane Peters for one month. An application for drainage permit from the Akaroa Co-operative Butter Factory Co., Ltd., was granted. A letter was received from the Minister of Marine as to a plan being forwarded for boatmen's ways. It was resolved that a plan and specification be procured and forwarded to the Department with an application for the grant of £SO for the construction of the boatmen's ways. It was resolved that a rate of threeeights of a penny in the £ be collected in respect of the two special loans for drainage and wall works construction.
The annual meeting of the Dunsandel Bowling Club was held on Friday night. Mr A. McPherson, jun., occupied the chair. The attendance was good. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £1 13/7. This amount was considered very satisfactory. The following officers were elected for .the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr J. Boa*g; President, Mr P. Delargey; vice-presi-dent, Mr H. Brown; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr F. Lill; general committee, president, vice-president, secretary, and Messrs W. Hall, J. McPherson, T. Greer, and J. Boag, jun.; selection committee, Messrs J. Burgess, A. McPherson, and president; match committee, president and secretary; refreshment committee, Messrs W. Hall and R. H. Johnston; delegates to Centre, Messrs H. Browii and A.
