DEPREDATIONS BY DAYLIGHT. ORGANISED GANG AT WORK, By Ctble. — Press Association. — Copyright. MELBOURNE, July 10. There is an epidemic of daring daylight robberies. Scarcely a day passes without at least three depredations, all showing a similarity of methods, being reported. All point to the fact that an organised gang is at work. EVELEIGH SUSPECTS REMANDED. THE POST' OFFICE AFFRAY. SYDNEY, July 10. Samuel Freeman,., Tathani, Twiss, and Ryan were again remanded in connection with the Eveleigh robbery, awaiting the arrival of the fifth suspect, arrested in Tasmania. • Freeman was also committed for trial for participating in the Oxford Street Post Office affray on June 8. The authorities have granted the watchman £SOO in recognition of his bravery. [On June 8 an attempt was made to rob the Oxford Street Post Office. While going for assistance, the watchman was shot through the cheek Meanwhile, the safe breaker, becoming alarmed at the firing, broke a fanlight and escaped. Explosives were found in the keyhole of the safe.]
