In the House of Commons, Mr Bowlsu>d Hunt, Unionist member for Ludlow, asked how many weeks' supply of wheat and flour would be available in the event of a sudden war, and could an assurance be given that the country would'be safe against starvation. Mr Asquith replied that he thought, in the public interest, no reply should be given. The question had been kept under continuous observation and he could give an assurance that everything that could be done'was being done.
