MINER STABS MAYOR.
THE ASSAILANT SHOT.

A Finnish ininer attacked the Mayor of Butte, stabbing .him three times, after his refusal to deport; the editor of a Finnish newspaper favourable to the Western Federation of Miners. The Mayor defended himself with a revolver, shooting his assailant in the abdomen.
Both are expected to recover.
