Lord Grey, giving evidence before the Dominions Commission, said he was hopeful of the ultimate success of the Imperial building scheme. He asked the Commission to recommend this subject for discussion at the next Imperial Conference. The English investors in the Dominions urge the Colonial Governments should protest against the Budget proposal to tax incomes arising from securities abroad .where such income is not remitted to Britain.
