LABOUR TO CONFER.

Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 4. Up to the present seventy-nine unions have signified their intention of participating in the Congress of Unions next week, to consider the solidifying of the forces of Labour, and the more successful protection of their mutual interests. These comprise 22 unions from Auckland, ami Gisborne, 19 from Wellington and Hawke's Bay, 12 from the West- Coast and Nelaon, 17 from Canterbury, and 9 from Otago and Southland. MrP.H. secretary of the Federation,, which is convening the conference, expects that upwards of 100 organisations will be represented altogether.; Among the business set .down for consideration is affiliation with the recently-formed Australasian, Federation of Labour.
