(From Our Special Correspondents.) SPRINGFIELD. ©n Monday evening a large number of residents attended a farewell- social to Miss G. Cullen, who has been mistress at the Springfield School for the last two years, and is leaving to take a. position in the Papanui School.* The evening was passed with musical items, dancing and supper. Mr R. Gillanders, chairman of the School Committee, , spoke, eulogising Miss Culleh's work as ! a teacher and as a helper in the social . affairs' of the district, and on behalf of the children, parents, and friends, presented her with a gold bangle watch.
