BROMLEY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A special meeting of the Bromley School Committee was field on Monday. Present: Mr Huggins (chairman), , Mr Eade (secretary), Messrs Chambers, Gowie, Hadley, Moore, and Mrs Christian. Daring the afternoon a presentation had been made to Miss Constance M. Sage, 8.A., by the teachers and pupils of the Upper Division of the Bromley School, as a token of congratulation and good wishes on her success as a graduate of Canterbury College. The present consisted of a cabinet set of "The Chronological Shakespeare." Two little girls, Louisa Huggins and Doris Stephens, made' the presentation, and Miss Eva Hughes expressed the good wishes of the school. The committee passed a vote of appreciation and congratulation to Miss Sage on the distinction she has attained.

A reply was received from the Education" Board approving the action taken by the chairman re topping trees on the south and east borders of the school grounds and giving the wood as part payment. It was decided to organise an euchre party and dance for July 11, the object being twofold—"to raise funds and to promote social interest and fellowship among the parents and residents of this beautiful and rising district. •'
