THE TROUBLE IN AUSTRALIA. MEN DISSATISFIED WITH AWARD. (Received June 24, 8.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 24. " On an appeal by the master builders, the Arbitration Court refused the carpenters' demand for a reduction of their working hours to forty-four weekly. The court also declined to grant preference to the men employed in the building trades.
The men are generally dissatisfied at the award, and meetings have been called to review the position.
Similar dissatisfaction exists in Melbourne, where a strike is talked of.
