LEAGUE ACTIVITIES * Press Association. GOBE, June 24. A largely attended meeting of representatives of the Gore, Croydon, Chart* ton, Waimumu, Hedgehope, and Glencoe branches of the Gore-Hedgehope Bail-. way League was held at Gore yesterday. It was resolved that a deputation urge the Government to take the necessarysteps to have the Gore-Hedgehope'"rail-way authorised this session. Itewaa. further resolved to recommend the ,Comment to acquire several suitable properties in the Waimumu district for closer settlement.
Enthusiastic meetings were held at Gore and Mataura, and branches of the Southland League formed.
