"THE AWAKENING."

The publie of Christchurch will be afforded an opportunity of witnessing another modern play by the Julius Knight Amateur Dramatic Club on July 2 and 3 next, when '' The Awakening" will be produced at the Theatre RoyaL The play, which is a particularly interesting one, with excellent humour and full of pretty situations, is from the pen of the well-known writer Haddon Chambers, the author of "The Tyranny of Tears," which is being revived at the present time in London. Behearsals and arrangements are well in hand, and it is expected, in view of the great success of the club's first production, Bernard Shaw's "You Never Can Tell," that the productions of "The Awakening" will be largely patronised by theatregoers and those in sympathy with local enterprises of this nature.
