At a meeting of the Anglican' Synod to-day the following resolution was carried unanimously: —"That this Synod, representing 140 Church of England congregations in Otago and Southland, urges the Government to afford the people an opportunity of deciding by referendum at the next General Election wh>ther Bible and religious teaching shall or sfiall not be'introduced into the public schools.''
