RANGIORA.

MB JOHN SANSOM AGAIN HONOURED. The members of the Eangiora Bowling, Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club assembled in force to mark their appreciation of the excellent services rendered to the club by Mr John Sansom, who has just resigned the presidency, which he had held for the past nine years.

Mr C. I. Jennings (Mayor) presented to Mrs Sansom, on behalf of the residents, a magnificent gold bracelet set with pearls, and Mr F. E. Cressweli, M.A. (president of the club), on behalf of its members presented to Mr Sansom a beautiful album containing photographs of Eangiora extending back 50 years, and in which was inscribed a short but suitable address signed by the members.

Mr J. Sansom, in responding, said he was quite overcome with the way in which his efforts for the benefit and welfare of the club had been appreciated, and after thanking them on behalf of Mrs Sansom and himself for the splendid gifts, gave a short history of the formation of the club some nine years ago. Progressive euchre was played after the presentation, the ladies' first prizes being won by Mrs Armbrose and Mrs H. Jones. Mr S. Webber and Mr J. Angus were the winners of the gentlemen's prize. The booby prizes were won by Miss Ambrose and Mr W. Bouse respectively.
