"HILL-CLIMBING ON THE LONDONEXETER RUN. "Your interesting report of the official results of the London-Exeter run came as a surprise to me and several others, for we noticed that out of 21 side-car machines that failed on the official hills—that is, Chard and Trou —14 were machines of 6 and 8 h.p. and one of 45 h.p., while 13 3J single-cylinders competed with side cars, and only four failed to climb these test hills. Of tho nine successful ones, I note four were Rover combinations, which is a performance tho Coventry firm may well feel proud of, especially as every machine entered got through and was awarded a gold medal.'JACK SUCKLING, Canterbury Agent, 114 MANCHESTER STREET, Christchurch.
